I particularly enjoy getting my hands dirty to experiment and bring projects to life. What I like is the act of ‘doing’ – materializing ideas, whether they are new to me or have been explored by others.

Black holes

Black Hole Image

With the artist Julien Gachadoat, we are trying to reproduce an approach from a seminal paper by Jean-Pierre Luminet that produced the first-ever image of a black hole with an accretion disk. This image is not only scientifically significant but also artistically compelling. Our aim is to delve deeper into Luminet’s concept, exploring its scientific brilliance and artistic beauty.

Exploring Art through Code

Just as painters wield brushes to bring their visions to life on canvas, algorithmic code can serve as a medium for artistic expression. This is called “generative art”, a fairly old art movement that explores the creative potential of algorithms. In my work I particularly enjoy to bring these creations into the physical world by using tools like (old school) pen plotters that blend the precision of digital art with the texture and imperfections of traditional drawing techniques. I am fortunate to be featured in two books by Vetro Editions: “A.R.E - Augmented Reality Exhibition” and “Tracing the Line”, a book focused on the art of drawing machines and pen plotters. Additionally, from time to time I share glimpses of my creations and engage with the vibrant and peaceful community on instagram, where you can find some samples of my outputs.

Sailing

I find a different kind of joy in learning how to sail. Not only does it involve a deep connection with nature at a slow pace, but it’s also a refreshing counterbalance to my journey, away from all that digital stuff.
